Coaches and Staff

Katrina Courneya - Owner - Syracuse Director - 23 Years Experience

Gymnastics, Dance & Cheer has really been Katrina’s life as she started at the age of 3.  At the age of 8, Katrina started coaching classes to help her parents pay for tuition and it’s then that she gained her love for coaching.  Every young gymnast has a dream to go to the Olympics or go to college for gymnastics. Katrina’s dream was to open her own gym and coach! Katrina has 15 years experience as a high level gymnast and 3 years as a tumbler and flyer on her high school cheerleading competition team.  Katrina is a hard worker, a leader, a role model, fun, loving, energetic, creative and she has a positive attitude (always).


Nicole Devey - Kaysville Director - 20 Years Experience

Nicole has been cheering and dancing for over 20 years.  She has training in ballet, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, break dancing, cheerleading, tumbling, and gymnastics.  While in junior high and high school Nicole trained with a local all-star competitive cheerleading team while also taking dance classes at a local dance studio.  She cheered for Bountiful High School during her sophomore year and Woods Cross High School her Junior year.  After high school Nicole went on to dance with Salt Lake Community College’s dance company and also performed with a local professional dance company, Strictly Business Productions.  Nicole has been coaching for over ten years, and has worked with many different dance studios, high school cheer/drill teams, and all-star competitive cheerleading teams along the Wasatch Front.  Her youth level two team took home several first place along with an over all high point during the 2009-2010 cheer season.  During the 2011-2012 cheer season she lead the Layton CheerKats to two first, one second and one third place!  Nicole loves working for TumbleKats and can't wait for another cheer season!  Go CheerKats!

Hilary Olsen - Layton Director - 19 Years Experience

Hilary has danced for sixteen years. She studied dance at the University of Utah, studying in Modern,
Ballet, Lyrical, Jazz and Hip Hop.  Hilary performed eleven times at the Capital Theatre, multiple times at the Festival of the Arts and The Cathedral of the Madeleine. Hilary danced in the 2002 Winter Olympics Opening and Closing Ceremonies.  She also danced for Clearfield High Dance Company. Hilary has studied with members of the Ririe Woodbury Cast, the RDT Cast and studied choreography in Hip Hop, Jazz and Lyrical with the So You Think You Can Dance cast, including Twitch, Legacy and Lauren.

Tyann Nellsch - Bountiful Director - 16 Years Experience

Tyann has tumbling in her blood, looking back almost every childhood memory she has, involves tumbling or spending time at the gym. She was power tumbler for 14 years, and a competitive tumbler for 10 of those years.  While competing she was state champion multiple times on floor, double-mini and trampoline, Also going to national championships place in the top 50 in the nation as an individual. Tyann enjoys being able to share her love for tumbling and cheer. She has been coaching for 6 years and has a great passion for it. 

Tayler George - South Jordan Director - 15 Years Experience

Tayler has been involved with cheerleading and tumbling for about 8 years. She was previously a gymnast, and cheered competitively on a All Star Cheerleader for many years. She has coached girls in cheer, tumbling and “pomz” drill dance. Tayler is excited to be coaching at the South Jordan TumbleKats! and sharing her knowledge about cheer and tumbling with others.

Niki Cristaudo - Assistant Tumble  & Head Cheer Coach 

Niki started tumbling when she was only six years old and at the age of seven was recruited to All-Star Cheerleading.  She has over seven years’ experience in competing as an All-Star Cheerleader and over twelve years of experience of tumbling.  Niki is a great leader and prides herself as a team captain on our Sr. Level 4 Team! She is very hardworking, dedicated, and loves to coach.  This is Niki’s second season coaching for TumbleKats and now for CheerKats!  Niki is a great coach and loved by all her students!


Aldo Espinoza - Stunting Coach

Aldo has been a member of the University of Utah cheer team for four years and even though it wasn’t part of his plan, he is now the male captain. Through his four years of experience, Aldo has learned that cheerleading isn’t just for girls and how tough it can really be! Aldo is a great stunting coach, a hard worker and an excellent leader!


Kira Osborne -
Assistant Tumbling & Cheer Coach

Kira started as a gymnast when she was 5 years old but always knew she wanted to cheer. When she was 8 years old she found a competition cheer team and was there practicing 9 hours every week for the next 10 years. Once Kira graduated and was no longer able to keep cheering for her competition team, she decided to continue her love for cheer by cheering in college. Kira is currently cheering for her third year at the University of Utah. She loves to share her passion for stunting, tumbling and dance by coaching others at Tumblekats!
 

Lexi Devey - Assistant Tumbling & Cheer Coach

Lexi started dancing, tumbling, and cheering at the young age of 3.  She has a passion and love for all things dance and cheer.  Her training includes jazz, ballet, hip hop, lyrical, tumbling, cheerleading and gymnastics.  Lexi danced and competed with a local dance studio, for several years, while also cheering on her Jr High and High School teams.  Lexi has been coaching and choreographing routines for over 10 years.  She loves working with children and wants to help them succeed to be their best!

May 4th Competition - Roy High School!!

Hello CheerKats!

This coming Saturday is our competition at Roy High School.  Below, please find a list of competition times. 

It’s $7.00 for spectators to get in the doors. 

All cheerleaders need to be to Roy High School By 8:00 AM.  Cheerleaders need to come ready in uniform with hair and makeup.

We’d love for you to help us cheer on all the CheerKats teams, and once all of our teams have performed, please feel free to go if you would like.  Awards are not until later in the afternoon and makes for a long day.  Of course if you would like to stay you are more than welcomed to.
